Improved Media Management

A new feature request that I would like to see added to Litmos Author is a true file management system that would allow users to maintain the image, audio, SWF, and other files like we can do on our PCs.  For example, there currently is no way to delete or rename groups of files that are uploaded to the Media Manager...  To me, this seems like basic file-manager-type operation.  Whether this new function was provided via FTP access to our folders or through Media Manager direct, makes no difference to me... A lot of time is wasted having to delete files one at a time, only to reload them with updated file names.

I would like to see more organization options as well. Folders or groups would be especially helpful - even if it was only 1 level since I want to group media based on project title.

I have been using the tagging feature, but that is even a bit difficult since the files can only be tagged once they are in the media manager with all the other files. It would be very helpful to allow tagging when using the upload tool. In other words, I would be able to choose the file for upload, tag it with keywords, then hit "upload."

Replacing and existing image or file in a course is a multi-step process in the media manager. What if I already have an image in the media manager and I want to update it to a newer version of the same image? A "replace" or "over-write" option would save steps.

Right now you have to delete the existing file, then upload the new file, then set any tags on the new file.
